I've used these past few days to sleep it off
The wedding and everything after:
Well it all started with Yankie and me plus my two sisters, Tiril and Kine, going to a small town about an hour's drive away from my parents' house. There we went to the courthouse and met up with Liza, Yankie's cousin, and his mother and brother. The seremony lasted just five minutes and then we kissed... mmmm
The next day we held a party in my mother's garden. And althought I have a hotline to the weather-gods, they had other plans. When the guests arrived, 14.00, it started to rain in such amounts that I had troubles walking because my weddingdress got wet and even heavier than it usually is. But people kept their spirit up and we just gathered in the party-tent on the lawn to be seated and wait for dinner.
Dinner was: Potatoes roasted in oven with cream and cheese - SALADS (OMG there were a lot of those) - beef of cow (Miss Telma, born and raised on our farm and probably the happiest cow in the world to ever become weddingdinner) and filets of pig (Miss Piggy, who unlike other pigs spent her short but happy life digging around in the garden, eating everything from potatoes to rasin-buns to grapes and kiwi. She really ate EVERYTHING, save paprica, she didn't like that.)
Then there was dessert. And what a dessert... My mother and I had made Homemade ice-cream with Non-stop (kind of M&Ms), Daim (chocolate-covered caramel) and just vanilla. Then there was the caramel-pudding my mother is famous for, and finally the "kransekake" (literally means ring-cake)
Time for speeches and songs (blarg. The part I don't like. But it wasn't that bad)
Then my mother and father had to go to the stables and milk the cows, 'cause the cows don't care if there's a wedding going on.
Meanwhile my father in law showed up dressed as a village-idiot and told us about this tradition where the newly wedded couple had to throw a rubber-chicken into a box so they would have a long and happy marriage. (Never heard about that tradition before XD) But we made it and laughed a lot. And then he found his guitar (and 1. he's an amazing guitarist and 2. he's an even better singer, and leads his own band.) I cried and cried and cried *sniff* because he sang Van Morrison's "Have I told you lately that I love you".
So after all that we had CAKE! There were 9 different kinds of cake and my mother in law had made us a fantastic weddingcake (I'll post a picture)
Then there were photoshoots, saying goodbye to a lot of guests, talking and laughing.
But the best part was really when most guests had left and my father in law and I sang a Norwegian song together called Tir na Noir, and we had "lapskaus" which is kind of a meat-casserole with vegetables in.
It was half past twelve before I stumbled to bed, had my husband help me with getting 200 lice (we call them that, they're for keeping you hair in place) out of my hair, and fell asleep after telling him I loved him.
